Best Poker Hands

Filed under: Poker — Tags: — admin @ 11:38 am

The first thing a poker rookie learns is the 10 winning poker hands in standard 5-card poker. Top of the pile is the royal flush, the top 5 cards in sequence of the same suite, the 10, jack, queen, king and ace. This is the hand all players dream of. The second in the list of best poker hands is a straight flush; this is a 5-card sequence of the same suit, 2-6 of clubs for example. Next up is the self-explanatory 4 of a kind, 4 kings, 4 seven’s, 4 two’s etc.

The full house comes next in the list of best poker hands. This is effectively 2 of a kind and 3 of a king, e.g., 2 three’s and 3 sevens. A flush is next, any 5 cards of the same suit but in any order so they don’t have to run in sequence. A straight is a sequence of 5 cards but of different suits. Three of a kind is exactly as its name suggest, 3 sixes etc. Two pair is 2 pairs in the same hand, two of a kind is basically a pair and bottom of the list in best poker hands is high card, the singularly highest card you have in your hand.
